Comdasys fix/mobile (FMC) appliances allow enterprises to fully leverage their WLAN deployments for VoIP use, and service providers to add VoIP services to their Hot Spot offering
Stockholm - VON SPRING EUROPE, May 15, 2006
Comdasys AG, a leader in secure Fix/Mobile Convergence (FMC) appliances today announced that it has launched the Comdasys FMC 3800 for deployment of fix/mobile communications in enterprise networks. The newly released Comdasys FMC is the first of a family of FMC products Comdasys will release in 2006. Comdasys FMC appliances allow enterprises to extend their telephony features as well as their communications applications beyond the boundary of the enterprise WAN network through UMTS/GSM/CDMA. The Comdasys FMC 3800 supports a comprehensive list of enterprise telephony features and includes all necessary communications functions required for deployment even in the most complex enterprise networks. Among the outstanding features are the static and the seamless dynamic handover of phone calls from WiFi to GSM/UMTS/CDMA and vice versa. Comdasys FMC systems are deployed at the edge of corporate networks and can be networked with IP-PBX or IP enabled PBX. Comdasys is working with a large telecom systems vendor to bring to the market an advanced and comprehensive fix / mobile convergence solution offering.

“With its FMC line of products, Comdasys enters a rapidly emerging market in partnership with a large systems vendor. With the release of its newest product, the company further consolidates its position as one of the leading suppliers of feature-rich, low-cost convergence network appliances for use in a variety of enterprise scenarios”, said Martin Bitzinger, CTO of Comdasys. “By the end of 2006, we expect to support dual-mode phones of all major handset providers”, Mr. Bitzinger.

Due to the unique open platform architecture developed by the company, Comdasys has been able to reduce the time to market of its newest FMC product to only a few months. Comdasys business partners are equally leveraging the company’s short time to market to differentiate themselves from their competitors. In 2005, Comdasys has consistently added advanced features to its well performing Convergence line of products. Today the Comdasys Convergence systems are deployed to connect small to large branch offices to centrally managed IP-PBX as well as to interconnect offices.
