Comdasys Launches Convergence Session Border Controller for Service Providers
Convergence 4600 leverages Comdasys secure and features reach Session Border Controller currently deployed in mission critical Enterprise networks.
Stockholm - VON SPRING EUROPE, May 15, 2006
Comdasys AG, a leading provider of network appliances for secure real-time multimedia convergence scenarios and session border controllers, today announced the launch of its first Convergence Session Border Controller targeted at meeting the requirements of service providers as well as that of very large enterprises.

The Convergence 4600 is a session aware device able to protect the integrity of networks of service providers as well as enterprises while allowing the secure provisioning of services and applications. It also features quality of service functionalities in conjunction with its session admission control and policy enforcement capabilities. The Convergence 4600 features TLS and SRTP termination to provide secure connectivity over insecure links. The Convergence 4600 enables service providers as well as enterprises to securely deliver IP based voice and multimedia services and applications to consumers as well as to enterprise network users.

“The Convergence 4600 is suitable as a universal network building block for service providers and large enterprises to effectively integrate real-time communication capabilities into their existing networks”, said Martin Bitzinger, CTO of Comdasys. “The Convergence 4600 can handle 10000 users and scale up to 2000 concurrent calls in a single, resistant 19" chassis; call processing performance can be scaled independently to achieve over 750 calls per second with enabled SRTP termination” he added.

The Convergence 4600 can monitor bandwidth consumption, needed to police SLAs and prevent bandwidth theft. It also allows service providers to provide lawful intercept functions for both signaling and media and to ensure a reliable handling of emergency / priority calls.
